Dear Supporters:

While it has been a spectacular summer, I am looking ahead to an autumn event which is dear to my heart. It is the 5K Walk/Run Toronto Marathon on October 17, 2010. The 5K Walk/Run is to raise funds for The Robert & Maggie Bras and Family New Drug Development Program housed at Princess Margaret Hospital – one of the leading 5 cancer research centres in the world!

Our team is called Walking Hand in Hand and I am asking you to walk/run with me or sponsor me on my personal quest to conquer cancer in our lifetime.

In the last 20 years I have felt the pain of watching far too many family members and friends suffer from cancer. My life has been forever changed by this disease and my mission is to continue to create an awareness of how we are changing the face of cancer at Princess Margaret Hospital and also to continue to ask for your support in order to continue this change.

This September 4, 2010 will be the 8th anniversary of my husband Robert’s death from cancer. Robert was in his 50’s and had two primary cancers that were racing throughout his body to see which would be the first in line to do the job! It was very much a tie. Today, we have 8 years of progress with new targeted drugs being used in clinical trials, which are enabling those with cancers that were once deadly, incredibly now offering life! The face of cancer has been forever altered, and will be conquered in my lifetime!

Please visit our website at www.handinhand5K.ca to make a donation on line or you can send a cheque to: Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, 610 University Avenue, 10th floor, Toronto, ON M5G 2M9, with Walking Hand in Hand 5K Walk/Run written at the bottom of the cheque. For more information, please visit www.pmhf.ca or www.brasfamily.com. Further questions can be directed to our Team Captain, Mrs. Leah Lambrakis Bras at 416.889.8674 or leahlambrakis@hotmail.com.

Thanking you in advance for your support.

Sincerely

Maggie Bras
