THE BRAS FAMILY THANKS YOU!

On July 9, 2007, we celebrated at The Summit Golf and Country Club, another fun filled day for The Robert Bras & Family Golf Tournament in honour of a great man – Robert Bras.

Again for the fifth year straight, we had a full house of golfers.  In honour of our golfers, what can be said except without your commitment in coming out year after year to raise funds for researching and developing new agents and therapies to eradicate cancer, primarily through early phase clinical trials, we would not have held five tournaments in Robert’s name – thank you!

To our slew of dedicated, efficient happy volunteers, this day would not take place without your willingness to help.  Thank you for helping make our last year (for the time being), the best ever.  I have over the years been constantly amazed to have more volunteers volunteering than we require.  You have been incredible!

Sincerely,

Maggie Bras

2010 Toronto Marathon/”5k Walk/Run"

On October 17, 2010, The Robert & Maggie Bras and Family New Drug Development Program proudly participated in the 5K Walk/Run held by The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation in association with The Toronto Marathon.

The Bras New Drug Development Program had 23 participants who collectively raised $11,846.00!  Maggie Bras was in the lead and raised over $5,000.  We walked together on a gorgeous sunny morning in support of new drug development to fight all cancers.

Everyone has their reason for raising funds for this insidious disease and we, the Bras Family, walked in memory of Robert Bras who fought his cancer bravely for over three years. There were many laughs, huge smiles, maybe a few tears, and a ton of energy during our walk.  Many ideas were bandied about on how to make this event an even greater event in the years to come.

The Bras New Drug Development Program will be participating in this event on a bi-annual basis and we wish to thank all our participants and supporters for donating your time, effort, money and for believing in our cause.

Sincerely,
