Maggie Bras - President

Maggie Bras jumped into the philanthropy arena with the formation in 2001 of The Robert & Maggie Bras and Family New Drug Development Program at Princess Margaret Hospital.  Robert and Maggie's families involvement in raising funds for this program ensures the success with which it is operated, and its continued success.  The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation also plays a leadership role.

Philanthropy soon became Maggie's focus on the death of her husband Robert in 2002, and as a result The Bras Family Foundation came into being in 2004.  "Our foundation lends me the freedom to establish a mission statement, which reflects the areas of my interest outside of new drug development.  While new drug development in cancer research is very much my passion, establishing this foundation enables me to do more in the areas of cancer and also in the arts and abused women and children." - Maggie Bras

Leslie Clare - Director

Leslie Clare started her career in advertising and over 25 years worked on various charitable programs to benefit local communities.  She oversaw development of promotional programs for local children's charities and hospitals.

A major career move three years ago saw Ms. Clare leaving the corporate advertising business and moving to a not-for-profit organization that assists individuals in advertising and its related media.  In her current position as a National Director of Client Services, she oversees all the client's needs and assists with the organizations' fundraising programs.

Ms. Clare looks forward to the opportunity of being a director of The Bras Family Foundation.

Paul Ivany - Director

Paul Ivany is a minister within the United Church of Canada.  He is presently in ministry at Norval United Church, a dynamic, thriving congregation northwest of Toronto.  Paul has a passion for people - hearing their story, encouraging their faith, challenging them to grow, motivating them to give and serve.

Raised by Salvation Army officer parents, Paul has always lived in an environment of care and compassion for others.  He has extensive experience in the administration of social service programs for Provincial Offenders, Young Offenders, Federal Parolees, victims of family violence and the homeless.

Paul's participation in The Bras Family Foundation allows him the opportunity to broaden his commitment of service to others.
